A great turn out tonight considering the weather we had to drive through to get to Cox's Bay Reserve. Once again heavy showers before the event seemed to disappear for most of the time we were out, and the moon made a good occasional appearance. Huge thanks to Kate, Alina, Iryna, and Vee for organising the vegatable soup and registration; Norm and Simon for bringing along and setting up the light and club tent for some much needed shelter for those waiting for 6:55pm map handout time. Big thanks to Peter Bakos for planning and setting up tonight's controls. Lots of variations again when comparing routes taken at the end. Check out Simon Lieschke's route here. If you have your own routes on a site let us know about it and we will add a link to it to share with others.
Right - that was the warm up set of events- next week is the three hour or two hour Street Rogaine starting at 18A Ballin St, Ellerslie. Make sure you get a fresh set of batteries into the torches before then!
Quick reminder: on Friday 27 May we have the club social event at Panmure Yacht and Boating club - Guests are welcome to join us and meet some of the other AOC members - please email us for details.

Event Details: Wed 26 May 2010 - 2010 Autumn Night Street Series - Night Street Event Three - Ponsonby - started at Cox's Bay Reserve (end of Kingsley St). Maps given out at 6.55pm, mass start at 7pm. For this event you receive a black and white street map with 20 controls circles. You choose to visit any 6, 10, 14 or 18 controls with the aim of completing your course in about 1 hour. We have a cup of soup awaiting you on return. BRING A TORCH. This is a great way to have fun and get some exercise now the nights have closed in on us.
