SummerNav Field1 Macleans Park Event: 18 2018-03-15

The penultimate night of SummerNav 2017-18 at Macleans was a very pleasant night for running in. However those lovely warm evenings of a few weeks ago seem to have past and I did not see anyone taking advantage of a dip in the sea to cool off, despite the full tide. We hoped you all enjoyed a bit of end of season fun in the maze after your run. It is quite easy to lose track of where you are going, isn’t it! You can access the results from the AOC webpage.

Sadly next week will be the last of Summer Nav until the end of October. The ending of SummerNav always seems to be a farewell to summer as well, so do make sure you join us in Cornwall Park on Wednesday next week for the final event. We will be starting from near the rotunda off Pohutukawa  Drive.  Please note that we are within the gates of Cornwall  Park. The gates will be shut at 8pm so we will need to do a prompt pack up so we don’t get locked in.

Don’t forget that the Sunday forest events begin this Sunday, on the Plantation map which is at Maramarua on SH2, just by the intersection with SH25. If approaching from Auckland drive right around the roundabout at the intersection and head back to Auckland so you can turn left into the farm gate. You can start between 10.00am and 12.30. There will be a course suitable for everyone.

The following Sunday (25th) the event will be at Lake Kareta, north of Parakai on the South Kaipara Heads. Then it is Easter and the Nationals! If you have not entered you can still do so until midnight on Friday

Finally, Congratulations to the North West Club which brought home the 7 man night relay trophy from Taupo last weekend, and to our Auckland club 5 man team who brought home the five man trophy – a clean sweep to the Auckland region clubs!
