It was a great evening for enjoying the views from the top of Hamlin’s Hill tonight, with enough breeze to help counter the grunt to the top. Thanks to Lyn and Selwyn for the challenging courses. There is always a polarising of comments after a Hamlins Hill event – for many it is one of the highlights of the year but some are not quite so appreciative of this rather less manicured map. It is, however becoming more and more attractive as all the planting matures. The cows tonight were in a very frisky mood, especially if you were accompanied by a dog!
Next week the event is back to THURSDAY, in Cornwall Park, starting from beside the Archery Club in Bollard Ave. Please note that the gates to Cornwall Park will be locked at 8pm so either park your car outside the gates or ensure you make a prompt departure to ensure you are not locked in.
Have you got your team together for Gergo’s Amazing Race? Entries close in a weeks time (Wednesday 8th November) so make sure you get your entry in now. It certainly will be a unique event, guaranteed to challenge everyone and be a day to talk about long afterwards – don’t miss out. Club members, don’t forget the club relays this Sunday. Let your club know you are coming – the relays will again have a sprint format with 4 different age groups so there is a leg suitable for all. This is intended as a fun event. New club members, this is a great way to get to know your fellow members – you certainly don’t need to be an expert to take part!
Also entries for the Auckland Champs (18, 19 November) close this Friday so be sure to do your entry today if you have not already done so.
