Ambury Regional Park 27Jan22
It was great to see many of you on a lovely night, running around Ambury last night, even if we were all having to keep big distances from one another. This is certainly not the welcoming, friendly way we want to be running SummerNav but, sadly, to keep within current guidelines and to be sure we are minimising the risk of any spread of Covid to you all and our club volunteers, it is this, or nothing, at the moment. We appreciate your understanding.
We hope you enjoyed the challenge that the new area of the track system in the bush created, and our thanks to Mervyn for creating the challenge for you. He was hoping what he did in this area would take you by surprise and cause some confusion! We apologise to anyone that was thrown by no north lines on the map – my oversight sorry! Also, apologies to those who tried to enter their result on the web last night. We had tried to make a correction to the link while at the event and messed it up. Unfortunately, we were unable to fix it once we knew as we were enroute to the Coromandel Peninsula. Results are therefore basically only for those using MapRun timing and a few others.
Next week the event is Wednesday, 2nd February at Cornwall Park, starting in the area of the café and band rotunda, along the road that ends in the haha. You turn off the big round about on Pohutukawa Dr. You can only access the road here from Green Lane Rd – you can not get through from Manukau Rd. With the changing world we are living in please keep watching the website for any change. Our hope is to keep holding these events on the night, so please ensure you comply with all our requests to keep everyone separated. Should any rules change or we reach a point where we feel it unsafe for competitors or volunteers we would revert to putting up the events in MapRun. We will ensure there is a weekly event and will hold them on the night as long as we can.
